Customising your Gable Carport Design
If you’re looking for a gable carport, but also want to add your own personal touch to it, here are options for you.
- Choice of individual colorbond colours – Choose a colour for the roof, guttering, trim and infills.
- Choice of Roof Sheets and Infill Sheets – Choose from ‘Custom Orb’ (standard), or optional the ‘Trimdek’ profile sheeting.
- Choice of Gable Roof Pitch – We offer 3 main roof pitches and they are 10 degrees, 15 degrees and 20 degrees. This gives you ways to match the roof pitch with your house.
- Use of different materials for the gable infill sheets – With our system, you can choose from several ways to accent the gable infill:
- We can supply your carport with Colorbond infills to match the carport roof, in either vertical sheeting or horizontal sheeting.
- We can supply your gable with the Infill frames only (no sheeting). This opens up other possibilities such as timber slats or boards, blue board sheeting with timber trims or other options. This might be to match the existing house to add more dimension and character to your property.
- Open Gable Ends – We can also supply your gable carport with open gables, where all of the infills are removed. This effectively gives you more clearance height in the middle of the carport. For example, you might want to protect a larger vehicle such as a caravan or motor home and do want too much height overall.

There is a huge range of sizes available in the gable carport range from Excalibur Carports. Sizes include common models for a gable single carport (3m x 6m) and gable double carport (6m x 6m), but we can also do any size in between as well as much larger, up to a 12m wide span and as long as you need. Larger sizes can also be done on request. Heights start from 2.1m up to 5m or 6m if needed. What are the Gable Ends on the Carport?
The gables are simply the triangular shaped faces that are added to give cover and protection at the open ends. They are also known as gable infills, because the fill in the voids created from the pitched roof. Gable carport are normally found for sale with the gable infills as they finish the carport off a bit more. However open gable ends, or ones with no gable infills, are more useful if you have a vehicle that needs a bit more height in the middle.
